Masters of the Future
Meesterwerken die vandaag nog altijd klinken in de concertzaal zijn vaak een spiegel van de wereld waarin ze ontstonden: van revoluties en oorlogen tot liefde, geloof en natuur. Maar hoe klinkt een reflectie op de wereld van nú?
Met Meesters van de Toekomst richt het Noord Nederlands Orkest de blik op een nieuwe generatie componisten. In opdracht van het NNO schrijven masterstudenten compositie van conservatoria in Groningen, Amsterdam en Den Haag gloednieuwe werken voor symfonieorkest. Zonder strikte kaders krijgen zij de ruimte om hun eigen stem te laten horen en te reageren op de tijd waarin we nu leven.
Tijdens deze bijzondere avond brengt het Noord Nederlands Orkest deze splinternieuwe composities tot leven in de concertzaal. De werken worden uitgevoerd onder leiding van jonge dirigenten van de Nederlandse Masteropleiding Orkestdirectie (NMO).
De toegang is gratis, we vragen je wel vooraf te reserveren.

With Masters of the Future, the North Netherlands Orchestra focuses its gaze on a new generation of composers. Commissioned by the NNO, Master’s students in composition from conservatories in Groningen, Amsterdam, and The Hague are writing brand-new works for symphony orchestra. Without strict constraints, they are given the space to let their own voices be heard and to respond to the times in which we now live.
During this special evening, the North Netherlands Orchestra brings these brand-new compositions to life in the concert hall. The works will be performed under the direction of young conductors from the Dutch Master’s Program in Orchestral Conducting (NMO).
