Bury The Moon Tour 2020
De roem van Ásgeir Trausti is de laatste jaren als een raket omhoog geschoten. In zijn thuisland IJsland heeft hij al drie nummer 1-hits op zijn naam staan en verschillende prestigieuze awards in de wacht gesleept! Buiten Scandinavië weet de jonge singer-songwriter eveneens de aandacht te trekken met zijn elektronische folkmuziek op onder andere Eurosonic Noorderslag en SXSW.
Ásgeir maakt intieme elektronische folkmuziek die anders binnenkomt dan je gewend bent. Het debuutalbum van de vaardige IJslandse songwriter had veel succes in zijn thuisland, totdat de Engelstalige versie verbinding vond met het grote publiek. Met zijn mix van folk en elektronica laat hij een diepe indruk achter.
Naast zijn wereldtour kondigt hij ook zijn derde album, Bury The Moon, aan. Dit intieme, oprechte album schreef hij in sociaal isolement, in een zomerhuisje in IJsland. Hij schreef het poëtische album samen met zijn vader Einar Georg Einarsson, die dichter is. De eerste single van het album, Youth, is nu uitgebracht. Op 19 februari is Ásgeir’s complete album live te horen tijdens zijn concert in de Stadsschouwburg!

De Franse pop noir songwriter Lian Ray is de support-act bij Ásgeir! Na een tien jaar lange strijd met zijn demonen in Berlijn komt hij met zijn solo debuutalbum in 2020. Hij blinkt uit in eerlijke, nachtelijke popsongs met een extra nadruk op donkere romantiek.
Ásgeir Trausti’s fame has rocketed during the last few years. In his home country Iceland he already has three number-one hits to his name as well as several prestigious awards! Outside of Scandinavia the young singer-songwriter has been attracting attention with his electronic folk music too, for example on Eurosonic Noorderslag and SXSW.
Ásgeir makes intimate electronic folk music you perceive differently than you are used to. The debut album of the adept Icelandic songwriter was very successful already in his home country, and then the English version also yielded him the attention of a larger audience. He leaves a deep impression with his mix of folk and electronics.
Next to a world tour, he has announced his third album Bury The Moon. He wrote this intimate, sincere, poetic album in social isolation, in a summer house in Iceland, together with his father, the poet Einar Georg Einarsson. The album’s first single Youth has now been released. On 19 February Ásgeir will present the entire album live during his concert in the Stadsschouwburg!
