Chris and Oliver Wood are The Wood Brothers, since a few years completed by multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix. Since 2006 Chris and Oliver have been releasing Americana music under the name The Wood Brothers. Before that, they were individually active (Chris as the founder of the jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood and Oliver as guitarist for Tinsley Ellis).
In 2006 they signed as a duo at Blue Note and that label released the debut album ‘Ways Not To Lose’. In 2013 their most recent album ‘The Muse’ was brought out, released by Southern Ground Artists. Jano Rix’s additional harmonies complete the vocals and also musically he brings a breath of fresh air. Also through his ‘shuitar’: a guitar with attributes such as tuna cans, which means it can also be used as a percussion instrument. ‘The Muse’ was produced by country legend Buddy Miller.

Daarvoor waren ze individueel actief (Chris als oprichter van het jazztrio Medeski Martin & Wood en Oliver als gitarist bij Tinsley Ellis).

Jano Rix’ additionele harmonieën completeren de vocalen en ook muzikaal zorgt hij voor een frisse wind.Ook door zijn ‘shuitar’: een gitaar met attributen als tonijnblikjes, die daardoor mede dienst doet als percussie-instrument. ‘The Muse’ is geproduceerd door countrylegende Buddy Miller. Momenteel werken The Wood Brothers aan een nieuw album, deze moet dit jaar nog uitkomen.

Carsie Blanton groeide op in Luray, Virginia en kwam muzikaal tot wasdom in Philadelphia. Ze tourde al met Paul Simon en The Wood Brothers. Haar muzikale inspiratie haalt ze uit pop, folk, jazz, soul en rock. Een breed palet aan stijlen dus, en al deze genres zijn terug te horen in haar liedjes. Tot nu toe bracht ze al drie albums en twee EP’s uit.
