Stereo MC’s
A groovy mix of hip-hop, funk and electronic beats.
Stereo MC’s became one of the defining names of the 1990s with their mix of hip-hop, funk and electronic music. With the worldwide hit Connected and tracks such as Step It Up and Ground Level, Rob Birch and Nick Hallam conquered dancefloors around the world and received two Brit Awards.
Birch and Hallam have known each other since childhood and started making music together in the 1980s. Inspired by their love of early hip-hop, funk and electronic music, they developed a sound of their own. Alongside their own music, Stereo MC’s have worked with a wide range of artists and producers over the years, creating remixes for artists including U2, Madonna and Tricky.
Since then, they have continued to evolve their sound. From their early club classics to their current love of house and Afro-house, Stereo MC’s continue to move between genres and club cultures. With their distinctive grooves, electronic beats and years of live experience, they still deliver an energetic show.
