Vier choreografieen op Bach
‘Back to Bach’ is een prachtige collage van vier pareltjes op muziek van de Duitse maestro Johann Sebastian Bach. Hij componeerde nooit specifiek voor dans, toch inspireert hij talloze choreografen. Het programma bevat twee wereld- premières: een ballet van de veel- belovende dansmaker Ernst Meisner en een werk van Hans van Manen. ‘In Light and Shadow’ van Krysztof Pastor begint met een adembenemend duet op de aria uit de beroemde ‘Goldbergvariaties’. Vervolgens verschijnen achttien dansers, die elkaar opjagen op de klanken van de ‘Derde Orkestsuite’. De avond wordt afgesloten met ‘A Million Kisses to my Skin’ van David Dawson. Hij liet zich voor deze virtuoze, hemelbestormende creatie inspireren door de lichtheid en vreugde van Bachs ‘Concerto voor cembalo, strijkers en basso continuo’.

Four choreographies to Bach
‘Back to Bach’ is a beautiful collage of four pearls to music by the German maestro Johann Sebastian Bach. He never specifically composed for dance, nevertheless he inspired countless choreographers. The program contains two world premieres: a ballet by the very promising dance maker Ernst Meisner and a piece by Hans van Manen. ‘In Light and Shadow’ by Krysztof Pastor starts with a breath taking duet to the aria from the famous ‘Goldberg variations’. Subsequently eighteen dancers appear who hunt each other down to the sounds of the ‘Third Orchestra suite’. The evening is ended by ‘A Million Kisses to my Skin’ by David Dawson. He was inspired by the lightness and joy of Bach’s ‘Concerto for cembalo, strings and basso continuo’ for this virtuoso, heaven-entering creation.
