In Germany Hauschka has been a famous pianist for years. Here he could be seen during Into The Great Wide Open, Cross-linx and – yes indeed – Noorderslag. He managed to completely silence the noisy crowd with his modern classical music. Hauschka’s music is accessible, rhythmic and innovative and therefore he has been compared to artists such as Eric Satie and Steve Reich.
His new album appeared this spring and is called ‘Abandoned City’. Inspired by musical innovators such as John Cage and Aphex Twin Hauschka creates an almost sinister vibe with his characteristic piano playing and – for the first time ever – intensive use of electronic finishing. During this live show Hauschka takes you on a journey through his imaginary landscapes translated into music, in which he alternates his compositions with magnificent improvisations.

In Duitsland is Hauschka al jaren een bekende pianist. In Nederland was hij o.a. te zien tijdens Into The Great Wide Open, Cross-linx en Eurosonic. Hij wist het rumoerige poppubliek muisstil te krijgen met zijn moderne klassieke muziek. De muziek van Hauschka is toegankelijk, ritmisch en vernieuwend en Hauschka wordt dan ook vergeleken met artiesten als Eric Satie en Steve Reich.
Zijn nieuwe album verscheen afgelopen voorjaar en heet ‘Abandoned City’. Geïnspireerd door muzikale innovators als John Cage en Aphex Twin creëert Hauschka een bijna spookachtige sfeer met zijn karakteristieke pianospel en – voor het eerst – intensief gebruik van elektronische nabewerking. Tijdens deze liveshow neemt Hauschka u mee op reis door zijn denkbeeldige landschappen vertaald naar muziek, waarin hij zijn composities afwisselt met magnifieke improvisaties.
