The tragic love story of Orpheus and Eurydice has been inspiring artists for many, many centuries. Harpist Joost Willemze now gives us his version in a theatrical concert. His unparalleled talent has been apparent from the start. He won first prize at the Princess Christina Competition, the international harp competition in Porto and the Italian competition Suoni d’Arpa. In addition to his conservatory education, Joost also studied classical languages.

For Willemze, Orpheus is a dream come true, where he can combine his passion for music with his love for Greek mythology. The Dutch Classical Talent jury sees yet another link between Willemze and ancient Greece: ‘He plays the harp like a Greek god. With his serene approach and stylized design, he shows us how beautiful simplicity can be. Beautiful big sounds and pure virtuosity.”
