Vier Seizoenen
Combattimento neemt met organist en klavecinist Liuwe Tamminga een duik in de bruisende Italiaanse barokmuziek. In ‘Frizzante!’ hoort u onder meer werken van Alessandro Scarlatti en zijn zoon Domenico. Een van de beroemdste stukken van laatstgenoemde is de zogenaamde ‘Kattenfuga’. Het verhaal gaat dat het thema werd ingegeven door de huiskat, die over de toetsen van Domenico’s klavecimbel liep. Niet alleen Vivaldi liet zich inspireren door de vier seizoenen, ook Durante schreef een ‘Concerto Le quattro stagioni dell’ Anno’, waarvan Combattimento een spannende reconstructie laat horen.

Natuurlijk ontbreekt grootmeester Vivaldi zelf ook niet. Van hem hoort u een spetterend vioolconcert en een intiem trio met luit. En dan prijkt er ook nog werk van twee kleine, maar niet minder sprankelende meesters op het programma: Brescianello en Dall’Abaco.

Dazzling Italian baroque
Combattimento takes a dive into the dazzling world of Italian baroque music with organist and harpsichordist Liuwe Tamminga. In ‘Frizzante!’ you will be able to hear among others works of Alessandro Scarlatti and his son Domenico. One of the most famous pieces of the latter is the so-called ‘Cat’s Fugue’: as the story goes, the musical theme was inspired by the house cat walking across the keys of Domenico’s harpsichord. The four seasons did not only inspire Vivaldi, but also Durante when he wrote a ‘Concerto Le quattro stagioni dell’ Anno’, of which Combattimento will present an exciting reconstruction. Of course, grand master Vivaldi himself will also be present, with a superb violin concert and an intimate trio with lute. And then there’s the work of two smaller, but certainly not any less scintillating masters on the program: Brescianello and Dall’Abaco.
This concert coincides with the Schnitgerfestival, which takes places from October 19 to October 21.
