Europees topensemble
Het in 1981 opgerichte Chamber Orchestra of Europe wil je gewoon een keer gehoord hebben. Al was het maar voor de klank van dit bijzondere gezelschap: krakend vers, helder en pittig.
Niet voor niets staat dit team al meer dan dertig jaar aan de top, met gastdirigenten als Claudio Abbado (de eerste artistiek leider van het gezelschap), Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Yannick Nézet-Séguin en Bernard Haitink. Concerten en cd’s worden steevast beoordeeld als verrassend, bezield en van zeer hoog niveau.

European top-notch ensemble
Founded in 1981, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe is a company you just need to hear at least once. If only for their exceptional sound: crisp, clear and spicy. This team has not been a leading company for more than thirty years for nothing, with guest conductors as Claudio Abbado (their first artistic leader), Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Bernard Haitink. Concerts and CDs are invariably considered surprising, inspired and top-level. And actually our city is represented in this top-notch ensemble, through the Groningen-born flautist Josine Buter. The programme contains work by the (according to many) classical music top 3. In what order these three have to be put, is up to you.
