Star violinist back in Groningen with a program entirely devoted to Mozart
Janine Jansen, tja, moeten we haar nog aan je voorstellen? Ze is een van de allergrootste internationale vioolsolisten van deze tijd en werkt met ’s werelds meest excellente orkesten en dirigenten. In mei 2023 is de stervioliste voor het eerst in bijna zeven jaar in De Oosterpoort te gast.
De 12 Stradivari van Janine
Vorig jaar kwam Jansen in het nieuws met 12 Stradivari, een uniek project met de Londense vioolhandelaar John & Arthur Beare. Op het album bespeelt ze twaalf verschillende violen van de legendarische Italiaanse vioolbouwer Antonio Stradivari (1644-1737), instrumenten die tot de duurste ter wereld behoren. Van het project werd ook een documentaire gemaakt, Falling for Stradivari.
Mozart met Salzburgs kamerorkest
Tijdens dit concert soleert ze bij hét kamerensemble uit Mozarts thuisstad – Camerata Salzburg – in een programma dat geheel aan Mozart is gewijd. Zo hoor je drie vroege werken, waaronder zijn allereerste symfonie. Met het Concert voor 2 violen en orkest toonde Mozart aan dat hij heel goed wist wat in ‘in de mode was’ en waarmee hij zijn publiek kon plezieren.

Of course, Janine Jansen doesn’t really need an introduction. She is one of the greatest international violin soloists of our time, performing with the world’s most outstanding orchestras and conductors. In May 2023, the star violinist will be a guest at De Oosterpoort for the first time in almost seven years.
Janine’s 12 Stradivari
Last year Jansen made headlines with 12 Stradivari, a unique musical collaboration with the London violin dealer John & Arthur Beare. On the album she plays on twelve different violins made by the legendary Italian violin maker Antonio Stradivari (1644-1737), instruments that are among the most expensive in the world. The project has also been turned into a documentary, Falling for Stradivari.
Mozart with Salzburg Chamber Orchestra
This concert she will be performing as a soloist together with the chamber ensemble from Mozart’s home city – Camerata Salzburg – in a program entirely devoted to Mozart. You will hear three early works, including his very first symphony. With the Concerto for 2 Violins and Orchestra, Mozart demonstrated that he knew exactly what was “in vogue” and how to please his audience.
