AJ Plug is een absolute topper uit de Nederlandse blues-rock en roots scène. Sterker nog; ze wordt gezien als één van de meest indrukwekkende blues-rock ladies die de Nederlandse blues-rock en roots scène de laatste jaren heeft voortgebracht. Blues-ambassadeur Johan Derksen noemt haar ‘een natuurtalent’ en nam haar dan ook mee op zijn uitgebreide theatertournees. In 2019 werd AJ (Alexandra Jolanda) getroffen door kanker, maar daar is ze inmiddels van hersteld. Het verwerkingsproces leidde tot het album Killer King (2021), zoals AJ zelf al zegt: ‘Een eerlijke plaat, geen bullshit.’ Geheel terecht werd Killer King door de Dutch Blues Foundation uitgeroepen tot ‘Beste Bluesalbum 2021.’

In fact, she is regarded as one of the most impressive blues-rock ladies to emerge from the Dutch blues-rock and roots scene in recent years. Blues ambassador Johan Derksen describes her as “a natural talent” and consequently included her in his extensive theater tours. In 2019, AJ (Alexandra Jolanda) was diagnosed with cancer, but she has since recovered. The healing process led to the album “Killer King” (2021), which, as AJ herself says, is “An honest record, no bullshit.” Deservingly, “Killer King” was awarded ‘Best Blues Album 2021’ by the Dutch Blues Foundation.
