Orkestsuites van J.S. Bach
De Academy of Ancient Music is al vele jaren een begrip in de klassieke muziekwereld. Onder aanvoering van klavecinist Richard Egarr, die in 2006 oprichter Christopher Hogwood opvolgde als artistiek leider, bouwden de Britten verder aan hun ijzersterke opname- en concerttraditie. Dit keer pakken de musici hun authentieke instrumenten uit de koffers voor een frisse en feestelijke uitvoering van de vier ‘Orkestsuites’ van Johann Sebastian Bach. De meester uit Leipzig brengt met de vrolijke en lichtvoetige werken een hommage aan de Franse barokmuziek. Natuurlijk is de derde suite dankzij het geliefde ‘Air’ het populairst. Maar wie dit hoogtepunt uit het barokrepertoire eens een keer van a tot z wil horen, is vanavond bij Richard Egarr en zijn musici aan het juiste adres.

Openbare repetitie
Voorafgaand aan het concert kunt u van 17.30 tot 18.30 uur een openbare repetitie van de Academy of Ancient Music bijwonen. De toegang is gratis.

Orchestral suites J.S. Bach
The Academy of Ancient Music has been a concept for years in the world of classical music. The Orchestra is led by harpsichordist Rischard Egarr who succeeded founder Christopher Hogwood in 2006. Under his leadership the Brits continued their strong recording- and concert tradition. For this concert the musicians will take their authentic instruments out of their cases to play a fresh and festive version of the four ‘Orchestral suites’ written by Johann Sebastian Bach. This genius from Leipzig will bring homage to French baroque music with light and cheerful pieces. The third suite is of course most popular thanks to the beloved ‘Air’. But for who wants to hear this baroque highlight fully should visit Richard Egarr and his Academy of Ancient Music.

Public rehearsal
Prior to the concert it’s possible to attend a public rehearsal of the Academy of Ancient Music from 17.30 to 18.30 free of charge.
