‘Let’s Dance!’ Twee-en-een-half jaar na het overlijden van David Robert Jones, beter bekend als popicoon David Bowie, vieren oud Bowie-bandleden en -vrienden zijn muziek met A Bowie Celebration – The David Bowie Alumni Tour. ‘Put on your red shoes and dance the blues.’
David Bowie
David Bowie werd in 1947 in Londen geboren als David Robert Jones. Hij brak begin jaren zeventig in Engeland als popzanger door, onder meer met het album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust. De lijst van wereldhits die David Bowie op zijn naam heeft staan lijkt oneindig; van Space Oddity in 1969, Rebel Rebel in 1974 en Heroes in 1977 tot aan Let’s Dance in 1983, Dancing in the street in 1985 en Little Wonder in 1997.
A Bowie Celebration
Muziek van David Bowie zoals de ‘Hero’ himself wilde dat het gespeeld werd. Avant garde toetsenist Mike Garson was bij de eerste en de laatste show van Bowie in Amerika. Samen traden ze meer dan 1000 keer op. Samen met de andere bandleden, die met Bowie tourden door de jaren heen, en ’s werelds’ beste vocalisten zorgt Garson voor een onvergetelijke avond met Bowie songs. A Bowie Celebration!
Line-up bestaat uit:
- Mike Garson – Niemand heeft langer opgetreden én opgenomen met Bowie dan Mike.
- Earl Slick – Slick (gitarist) heeft naast David Bowie ook samengewerkt met John Lennon, Yoko Ono en Robert Smith.
- Mark Plati – Mark is een producer en songwriter uit New-York. Hij wordt geprezen om zijn werk met David Bowie in de jaren ’90.
- Carmine Rojas- Rojas toerde de wereld rond met David Bowie en speelde bas op verschillende multi-platina hits zoals Let’s Dance, China Girl, Modern Love en Blue Jean tijdens de Serious Moonlight en Glass Spider tours.
- Bernard Fowler – Bernard is het meest bekend, bij miljoenen mensen over de hele wereld, als achtergrondzanger en percussionist voor The Rolling Stones,
- Corey Glover – “Ik kijk er naar uit om terug te keren naar de band om de muziek van Bowie met de wereld te delen – de meest briljante muziek ooit bedacht!”
- Joe Sumner – Hij is de zoon van actrice Frances Tomelty en zanger, acteur en milieuactivist Gordon Sumner, beter bekend als Sting. Daarnaast is hij oprichter van de band Fiction Plane.
- Lee John – Zoon van Earl Slick. Naast het schrijven en opnemen van zijn eigen muziek, is Lee lid van de band SayReal.

David Bowie
David Bowie was born in 1947 in London as David Robert Jones. He broke through in England as a pop singer in the early seventies, among others with the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust. David Bowie’s list of world hits seems endless; from Space Oddity in 1969, Rebel Rebel in 1974, and Heroes in 1977 to Let’s Dance in 1983, Dancing in the street in 1985, and Little Wonder in 1997.
A Bowie Celebration
David Bowie’s music as the ‘Hero’ himself wanted it to be played. Avant-garde keyboardist Mike Garson was at Bowie’s first as well as last show in America. They performed together more than a thousand times. Together with other band members who toured with Bowie over the years and the world’s best vocalists, Garson hosts an unforgettable evening with Bowie songs. A Bowie Celebration!

- Mike Garson – No one has performed and recorded with Bowie longer than Mike.
- Earl Slick – Next to David Bowie, Slick (guitarist) also worked with John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Robert Smith.
- Gerry Leonard – Leonard is an Irish lead as well as solo guitarist, known for his style and his work with David Bowie.
- Carmine Rojas – Rojas toured the world with Bowie and played the bass on several multi-platinum hits as Let’s Dance, China Girl, Modern Love, and Blue Jean during the Serious Moonlight and Glass Spider tours.
- Bernard Fowler – Millions of people all around the world primarily know Bernard as background singer and percussionist with The Rolling Stones.
- Corey Glover – “I am so looking forward to returning to the Bowie alum, jamming and sharing the music of Bowie with the world – the most brilliant thought-provoking music ever conceived!”
- Joe Sumner – He is the son of actress Frances Tomelty and singer, actor, and environmental activist Gordon Sumner, more commonly known as Sting. He also founded the band Fiction Plane.
- Lee John – Son of Earl Slick. Next to writing and recording his own music, Lee is a member of the band SayReal.
