Charley and Hattie are The Webb Sisters. The sisters grew up in a musical family in Kent (England) so they were raised with music all around them. A good example is usually followed, and Charley and Hattie have grown up to become gifted songwriters, armed with phenomenal (community) singing and beautiful instrument performance (e.g. harp, mandolin, clarinet, piano). With their original and intelligent folk pop songs they have caught the attention of for example Leonard Cohen, who frequently brings them with him on tour as background singers or as his supporting program. They were also invited to sing on Sting’s album ‘If On A Winter’s Night…’, they performed for Queen Elizabeth and shared the stage with artists such as Gotye, Jason Mraz and James Morrison. The Webb Sisters have released three albums, ‘Savages’ (2011) being their most recent, which was produced by multiple Grammy Awards winning producer Peter Asher. In 2013 the sisters released their EP ‘When Will You Come Home?’. In the meantime The Webb Sisters are busy writing their fourth album. These outstanding performers with their expressive voices will undoubtedly be done justice in the upper room of the Grand Theatre.

Charley en Hattie zijn The Webb Sisters. De zussen groeiden op in een muzikale familie in Kent (Engeland) en kregen muzikaliteit dan ook met de paplepel ingegoten. Goed voorbeeld doet volgen, want Charley en Hattie zijn uitgegroeid tot begenadigd songwriters, gewapend met fenomenale (samen)zang en prachtige instrumentspel (o.a. harp, mandoline, klarinet, piano).
Met hun originele en intelligente folkpop liedjes trokken ze al de aandacht van o.a. Leonard Cohen, die ze veelvuldig meeneemt op tour als achtergrondzangeressen of om zijn voorprogramma te verzorgen. Ook werden ze uitgenodigd om te zingen op Sting’s album ‘If On a Winter’s Night…’, traden ze op voor Queen Elizabeth en deelden ze het podium al met namen als Gotye, Jason Mraz en James Morrison. The Webb Sisters brachten drie albums uit, met ‘Savages’ (2011) als meest recente, die geproduceerd werd door meervoudig Grammy Award-winnaar Peter Asher. In 2013 brachten de zussen nog de EP ‘When Will You Come Home?’ uit. Intussen zijn The Webb Sisters druk aan het schrijven voor hun vierde plaat. Deze uitmuntende performers met expressieve stemmen komen ongetwijfeld optimaal tot hun recht in de bovenzaal van het Grand Theatre.
