The Klezmatics is een internationaal bekende klezmer band die met hun muziek is uitgegroeid tot één van de meest iconische bands in klezmer. Hun muziek is te omschrijven als wild, mystiek en provocerend. Ze gebruiken hun stemmen voor sociale gerechtigheid en veranderingen in de wereld en deze komen mooi tot recht in hun liedjes. Dat hun muziek gewaardeerd wordt, werd bevestigd toen de band in 2007 een Grammy won in de categorie ‘Best Contemporary World Music Album’.
De band bestaat dit jaar 30 jaar en dat wordt gevierd! Met een wereldtour in de planning en een nieuw album dat uitkwam in november, pakt de band uit. In februari 2017 komen ze naar Groningen om live op te treden in De Oosterpoort.

The Klezmatics is a world-renowned klezmer band which has grown to be one of the most iconic bands in world music. Their music can be described as wild, mystic and provocative. They use their voices for social justice and change, and this results in beautiful songs. In 2007 the band won a Grammy in the category of ‘Best Contemporary World Music Album’.
The Klezmatics celebrate their 30th anniversary with an upcoming world tour and new music album. On the 1st of February 2017 the band will perform in Groningen.
