De BAFTA award winnende componist, musicus en producer Ólafur Arnalds voegt shows toe aan zijn wereldtour en slaat Groningen hierbij niet over. De Europese shows die al eerder aangekondigd waren, zijn inmiddels allemaal uitverkocht. Op 28 oktober komt de IJslandse muzikale innovator met twee zelf-spelende piano’s naar De Oosterpoort.

Zelf-spelende piano’s
In het middelpunt van de show staan twee zelf-spelende piano’s. Ólafur Arnalds en zijn team hebben er twee jaar over gedaan om dit mogelijk te maken.

Genre-overstijgende composities
De IJslandse componist en performer Ólafur Arnalds blijft grenzen verleggen met zijn studiowerk en live-shows. Sinds de release van zijn debuutalbum Eulogy for Evolution in 2007 ontving hij internationale erkenning. Arnalds staat bekend om zijn genre-overstijgende composities waarin hij klassiek, pop en elektronische invloeden samenbrengt tot een unieke muziekervaring.

Naast zijn soloplaten en het succesvolle project Island Songs, scheef Ólafur Arnalds ook filmmuziek voor onder meer The Hunger Games en de series Broadchurch en Gimme Shelter.
