Matteo Myderwyk: niet in een hokje te plaatsen, noch voor een gat te vangen. Matteo’s muziek evolueert constant en zijn liveshows zijn zeer gevarieerd.
Door alle klassieke regels van zich af te gooien, belandde de pianist in de wondere wereld van de experimentele muziek. Muziek maken zonder vooraf gemaakte afspraken met als doel muziek in het moment te maken. Op zijn nieuwste album Parabel voegt hij de improvisatie van jazz, het melodische van pop en het repetitieve van dance samen en voert dit alles uit met de techniek van een klassiek geschoolde pianist. Op 11 december staat hij in de De Oosterpoort met een uitdagend pianoconcert.
Parabel
Om het concept van het nieuwe album Parabel volledig te kunnen doorgronden, moet je eigenlijk de vinyl versie hebben. Op de twee plaatkanten ontstaan twee volledig verschillende muzikale werelden, een pianokant en een elektronische kant. Toch staan ze dichterbij elkaar dan je denkt, want de losse tracks hebben vaak een verwante zustertrack op de andere plaatkant.

Because he has thrown out all classical rules, the pianist found himself in the wonderful world of experimental music: to make music without prior arrangements, with the aim of creating music ‘in the moment’. With an array of synthesizers he mixes the improvisation of jazz, the melodiousness of pop, and the repetitiveness of dance and he executes it all with the technique of a classically schooled pianist. He will bring his new album Parabel (ENG: Parable) to the Lutheran Church on 11 December.
Parabel
To be able to completely fathom the concept of the new album Parabel, you might want to listen to the vinyl version. Two totally different musical worlds arise from the two album sides: a piano side and an electronic one. Yet they not as fat apart as you would think, for the individual tracks are often accompanied by a sister track on the other side.
