Het ligt veel Groningse dansliefhebbers nog vers in het geheugen hoe Itzik Galili tussen 1997 en 2009 bij Galili Dance de ene na de andere prachtige choreografie uit zijn danskoker toverde. Soms een poëtisch en humoristisch stuk, dan weer rauw en agressief.
Tegenwoordig is Galili een internationaal veelgevraagd choreograaf en viert hij wereldwijd successen. Zijn spontaan ogende, maar technisch virtuoze danstaal is immers universeel. In ‘Man of The Hour’ geeft hij met acht dansers en twee zangers van The Israeli Opera zijn visie op het hedendaagse, hectische Israël. Het belooft een emotionele reis vol extremen te worden.

Emotional dance filled with extremes
Many Groninger dance lovers still vividly remember how from 1997 till 2009 Itzik Galili created one exquisite choreography after the other. Sometimes a poetic and humoristic piece, next raw and aggressive. Nowadays Galili is an internationally wanted choreographer and he is successful worldwide. His seemingly spontaneous, but technically virtuous dance language is after all universal. In ‘Man of the Hour’ he gives his vision of contemporary, hectic Israel, with eight dancers of the Kamea Dance Company and two singers of The Israeli Opera. It promises to be an emotional journey filled with extremes.
