Last year Electric Six performed in a sold-out Kleine Zaal and now the band from Detroit is returning to Groningen. The band mixes about as many genres as they have band members. Metal, disco, new wave, garage and punk; these can all pass by in the songs of Electric Six. But in all cases the music is extremely danceable. In 2003 the gentlemen from Detroit had their breakthrough with the singles ‘Danger! High Voltage’, ‘Gay Bar’ and the album ‘Fire’. Now, in 2014, the band has released ten studio albums; the most recent album ‘Mustang’ was released in October 2013. Before that, a live album (‘Absolute Pleasure’) as well as a live DVD (‘Absolute Treasure’) was brought out. According to Electric Six a live album is the epitome for a band: it is a sign of immortality. With this credo the evening will undoubtedly once again be a great party!

Vorig jaar stond Electric Six in een uitverkochte Kleine Zaal en de band uit Detroit komt terug naar Groningen. De band mixt ongeveer evenveel genres door elkaar als dat ze bandleden hebben. Metal, disco, new wave, garage en punk; het kan allemaal voorbij komen in de nummers van Electric Six. Maar in alle gevallen geldt dat de muziek uiterst dansbaar is.
In 2003 beleefden de heren uit Detroit hun doorbraak met de singles ‘Danger! High Voltage’, ‘Gay Bar’ en het album ‘Fire’. Aangekomen in 2014 is de band tien studioalbums verder; de meest recente plaat ‘Mustang’ verscheen in oktober 2013. Daarvoor verschenen er zowel een livealbum (‘Absolute Pleasure’) als een live DVD (‘Absolute Treasure’). Volgens Electric Six is een livealbum namelijk hét summum voor een band: het is een teken van onsterfelijkheid. Met dit credo wordt dit ongetwijfeld weer een feest van formaat!
Als de Vikingen een tijdreis maakten naar de jaren 80 van de vorige eeuw, samples meenamen van Grandmaster Flash, Prince, Beastie Boys en Michael Jackson en vervolgens een liefdesbaby maakten met Peaches, krijg je Andy D. Zo omschrijft Andy het althans zelf. Met zijn combinatie van rap, rock en humor en vooral een spectaculaire liveshow is Andy D iemand die je moet meemaken ‘in the flesh’. Zijn derde album ‘Warcries’ kwam vorig jaar uit.
