Behalve als danser bij internationaal gerenommeerde gezelschappen als Batsheva Dance Company en Inbal Pinto Dance Theater, is Edan Gorlicki in Groningen een lokale bekendheid door zijn jarenlange performances bij Club Guy & Roni en het vroegere NND/Galili Dance. Sinds 2013 geniet Edan de status van ‘Jonge Maker’ bij Grand Theatre en in die hoedanigheid maakte hij de choreografie ‘The Players’, dat de afsluiting is van zijn drieluik over macht en controle. Geïnspireerd door het thema psychopathie roept hij vragen op over sociale status, manipulatie, goede bedoelingen, hiërarchie en verraad.

Inspired by the theme of Psychopathy, The Players is a dance theater production that questions social status, manipulation, peoples’ intentions, what is reality?, hierarchy?, deceit?, and how far are we willing to go to get what we want?
The Players is the final part of a three-year study on the theme of power and control. Following the worldwide touring performances A little too close and Body Language, we return to the Grand Theater Groningen with this new bold production.

About Edan Gorlicki
Edan is the co-founder and was a resident choreographer of Random Collision Groningen. In addition, he has staged his works in Groningen for Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic Disasters Club, Noord Nederlandse Dans, NND/Galilidance, Groninger Museum and de Noorderlingen. Besides choreographing stage works, Edan self produced the successful multidisciplinary interactive installation exhibition UNBLOCKED.
