Daniel Romano hasn’t yet reached the age of thirty, but he effortlessly transports you to a honky-tonk in Nashville around the year 1970. Convincing songs about love and hate, faithfulness and betrayal, of course a lot of alcohol abuse and all of this provided with lovely community singing and a crying pedal-steel guitar. With great feeling for musical style as well as the fitting looks this young Canadian brings his heartbreaking songs under the spotlight.
Romano is often compared to the greats, such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard or the three Hanks. If you ask him about this, he likes to quote a song title by George Jones: “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes?” By now Daniel Romano has brought out four albums, of which the most recent ‘Come Cry With Me’ also gained a lot of well-deserved attention in Europe.

Daniel Romano is nog geen dertig jaar oud, maar neemt je moeiteloos mee naar een honky-tonk in Nashville, pak ‘m beet anno 1970. Overtuigende songs over liefde en haat, trouw en verraad, natuurlijk het nodige drankmisbruik en dit alles voorzien van fraaie samenzang en een huilende pedal-steel guitar. Met veel gevoel voor zowel muzikale stijl als de daarbij passende uiterlijkheden brengt de jonge Canadees zijn hartverscheurende songs over het voetlicht.
Romano wordt vaak vergeleken met de allergrootsten zoals daar zijn Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard of de drie Hanks.
