Compagnie 111, opgericht door Aurélien Bory, heeft een reputatie opgebouwd met fraaie voorstellingen, waarin theater, dans, visuele kunsten en muziek samenvloeien. In 2008 ontving Bory de prestigieuze Créateur Sans Frontiers-prijs. En die term – schepper zonder grenzen – is de beste samenvatting van de man en zijn werk.
Voor ‘Plexus’ koos hij de Japanse topdanseres Kaori Ito als zijn muze die eerder werkte met grootheden als Alain Platel en Sidi larbi Cherkaoui. Danseres Kaori Ito zoekt in een woud van 5000 draden haar weg. Vallend, hangend, zwevend, als een zwarte engel in een kooi, die ze alleen kan verlaten door geheel te verdwijnen in het niets…

Compagnie 111, founded by Aurélien Bory, has built a reputation with lovely performances, in which theatre, circus, dance, visual arts and music flow together. In 2008 Bory received the prestigious prize Créateur Sans Frontières. And that term – creator without borders – is the best summary for the man and his work. For ‘Plexus’ he chose the Japanese top dancer Kaori Ito as his muse, who previously worked with greats such as Alain Platel and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Watch the video on our website and you’ll agree: ‘Plexus’ is literally and figuratively a hallucinatory performance. Kaori Ito finds her way in a forest of 5000 strings. Falling, hanging, floating, like a black angel in a cage, which she can only leave by disappearing completely into nothingness…
