Xavier Rudd staat bekend als een van de meest gedreven songwriters van Australië. Met zijn feeldgood muziek weet de multi-instrumentalist de harten van mensen over de hele wereld te veroveren. Na negen studioalbums verschijnt op 21 april zijn eerste livealbum, Live In The Netherlands getiteld. Op dinsdag 27 juni komt Xavier Rudd terug naar Groningen.
Live In The Netherlands is opgenomen tijdens de laatste show van Xavier Rudd’s uitverkochte Europese Tournee. Met zijn twee uur durende show wist hij het publiek te betoveren met zijn tomeloze energie. De magie die deze avond ontstond wilde hij delen met de wereld en zo ontstond het idee voor zijn livealbum.

“Live in the Netherlands kind of just fell together pretty organically. The tour in Europe was sold out and pumping and Bobby, Ant and I were really on top of our game. The energy at the shows was huge and there was a really strong thread of positive intention running through the communities. We had an opportunity to record the last two nights in Utrecht, which I thought would be a good idea mainly for a reference for us to document where we were at. When I listened back to it I felt like we captured some magic particularly on the last night and I’m happy to share, what I feel is the best live product I’ve released to this point in my career.”
Het dubbelalbum bestaat uit achttien van zijn meest geliefde nummers, waaronder zijn wereldwijde hit Follow The Sun en een briljante cover van publieksfavoriet No Woman No Cry. Naast de vocalen is Xavier verantwoordelijk voor het bespelen van de gitaar, weissenborn, didgeridoo, harmonica en stombox. Hij wordt muzikaal ondersteund door Charles Wall (Bobby Alu) op drums, percussie en achtergrond zang en Ant Aggs op keyboard en piano.
De support-act van vanavond is Kyle Lionhart; een neo-folk/soul artiest afkomstig uit de Australische surf-enclave Byron Bay.

Xavier Rudd is known as one of Australia’s most passionate songwriters. With his feel good music the multi-instrumentalist captures the hearts of people around the world. Following nine studio albums, his first live album, entitled Live In The Netherlands, will be released on 21 April. On Tuesday 27 June Xavier Rudd will return to Groningen.
Live In The Netherlands is recorded on the final show of Xavier Rudd’s sold-out European Tour. During his two-hour show he enchanted his audience with his unbridled energy. He wanted to share the mystery that came into being this evening with the world, which is where the idea for his live album originated from.

The double album consists of his eighteen most-loved songs, for example his world-wide hit Follow The Sun and a brilliant cover of public’s favourite No Woman No Cry. Next to the vocals, Xavier is responsible for playing the guitar, Weissenborn, didgeridoo, harmonica, and stompbox. He is accompanied musically by Charles Wall (Bobby Alu) on drums, percussion and background vocals and Ant Aggs on keyboard and piano.
