De Volkskrant gaf maar liefst 5 sterren aan dit grootse en visueel meeslepende schouwspel dat overal in Europa voor uitverkochte zalen wordt gespeeld. ‘300 el x 50 el x 30 el’ (de titel verwijst naar de vermeende afmetingen van de Ark van Noach) is dan ook een spectaculaire mix van theater en film, over een dorp in de ban van een geheimzinnige angst. Op het podium: zes kleine huizen, omgeven door een bos. Er hangt een onheilspellende sfeer. Het lijkt wel alsof het einde der tijden nadert. Langzaam maar zeker leren we de dorpsbewoners, hun levens en hun keuzes kennen. En onontkoombaar stevenen ze af op een grootse finale…

The Volkskrant gave five stars to this grand and visually thrilling production. After merely sold out halls in the whole of Europe ‘300 el x 50 el x 30 el’ can only be seen in two Dutch cities this autumn. It’s a spectacular mix of theatre and film, about a village controlled by fear. On stage there are six small houses, surrounded by a forest. There’s a sinister atmosphere. The end of times is near. Wat are people doing? Slowly we get to know the villagers. What aren’t they doing? Not only the decor is special, the way the story is told is as well: a film camera on rails is continuously circling the houses. The film images are projected ‘live’ on a big screen and this way a story unfolds that will stick with you for a long time. “A crushing series of wordless images which together form a sinister show.” (Volkskrant*****)

In deze woordloze voorstelling glijdt het verhaal letterlijk als een film voorbij: een filmcamera op rails rijdt continu rondjes rond de huisjes, die geen achterwand hebben. De filmbeelden die dat oplevert, worden ‘live’ op een groot scherm geprojecteerd en zo ontrolt zich een verhaal dat je nog lang bijblijft.
