Live the band has a very similar effect: it is impossible to stand still. A track like ‘Let’s dance to Joy Division‘ proves that. The Wombats’ newer work is more in-depth, but still has that good drumbeat.
The indie rock formation from Liverpool released their debut in 2007. Anno 2015 The Wombats still has a hero status. The new record ‘Glitterbug’ was well received and their shows are always a madhouse. The status is confirmed by their impressive tour schedule. The Wombats are going to England, the United States as well as continental Europe. November 7th we’ll be seeing the Brits again after their previous legendary performances in Groningen. A perfect chance to get a live impression of their new record and to go crazy to older material.
The Wombats is zo’n Britse band die zulke aanstekelijke tracks maakt dat je niet van de volumeknop af kunt blijven. Live heeft de band een vergelijkbaar effect: het is onmogelijk om stil te blijven staan. Een track als ‘Lets Dance To Joy Division‘ bewijst dit punt. Het nieuwere werk van The Wombats gaat iets meer de diepte in, maar heeft nog altijd die fijne Wombats drumbeat.

The Wombats doen zowel Engeland, de Verenigde Staten als het vaste land van Europa aan. Op 7 november zien we de Britten na eerdere geweldige optredens terug in Groningen. Een perfecte kans om live kennis te maken met de nieuwe plaat en om als vanouds los te gaan op eerder materiaal.

Voordat ze überhaupt klaar waren met school, scoorde deze band al een grote hit in Noorwegen met hun eerste nummer The Mess. Hun debuutalbum ‘Home Before the Dark’ is inmiddels verschenen.
