The Meltdown combineert southern soul met invloeden uit Stax, Motown en de Nashville-songwriterstraditie. De band omschrijft hun nummers als ‘southern soul from the great southern land’. De warme stem van de leadzanger Thomas Burke brengt de band samen tot een groovy sound.
Na een reeks succesvolle liveoptredens tekende The Meltdown in 2015 bij het label Hopestreet Recordings. In 2017 verscheen het debuutalbum The Meltdown, dat leidde tot meerdere uitverkochte shows en festivaloptredens. Live staan ze bekend om hun meeslepende optredens vol met blazers, orgelklanken en teksten die binnenkomen. Het nieuwste album is nu uit en belooft opnieuw warme southern soul.
