With Anton Newcombe as its figurehead, The Brian Jonestown Massacre has already gone through many personnel changes and a large number of musical odysseys. The label experimental is certainly one that suits the American band very well, flirting with genres such as shoegaze, folk, blues and psychedelic rock, sometimes all at the same time.
The band never lacks inspiration. Their latest record, Fire Doesn’t Grow On Trees (June, 2022), is their 19th full-length studio album since they began recording in the mid 1990s. October 2022, their 20th album, The Future Is Your Past, will be released. It’s not for nothing that The Brian Jonestown Massacre is called one of the most influential psychedelic bands of the past 30 years. When encountered live, you never know what to expect. One thing is for certain: It will be legendary. We promise!
