De Canadese indiefolkband The Barr Brothers, opgericht door de broers Brad en Andrew Barr, staan bekend om hun grensvervagende mix van folk, blues, soul en indierock. In de jaren 90 tourden ze rond in Amerika met hun rockimprovisatie rocktrio The Slip. In Montreal leerden ze het toekomstige bandlid Sarah Page kennen, toen de klanken van haar harp door de muur heen te horen waren in Brads Appartement.
Met hun gelaagde, hypnotiserende sound heeft de multigenreband inmiddels meerdere grote prijzen binnengesleept. Het debuutalbum leverde een JUNO-nominatie op en Sleeping Operator werd in Canada bekroond met een gouden plaat. Ook de albums Queens of the Breakers en Let It Hiss ontvingen JUNO-nominaties.
Op 17 oktober brachten The Barr Brothers het nieuwe eerlijke en rauwe album Let It Hiss uit. De titel van dit album staat symbool voor het omarmen van ongemak, imperfectie en strijd.
Daarnaast stonden The Barr Brothers in het najaar van 2025 in het voorprogramma van de tour van Mumford & Sons.

The Canadian indie folk band The Barr Brothers, founded by brothers Brad and Andrew Barr, are known for their boundary-blurring blend of folk, blues, soul, and indie rock. In the 1990s, they toured the United States with their improvisational rock trio The Slip. In Montreal, they met future bandmate Sarah Page when the sounds of her harp could be heard through the wall in Brad’s apartment.
With their layered, hypnotic sound, the multi-genre band has won several major awards. Their debut album was nominated for a JONO Award, and their album Sleeping Operator went gold. On October 17, The Barr Brothers released their new, honest and raw album, Let It Hiss. The title of this album symbolizes embracing discomfort, imperfection, and struggle.
Additionally, The Barr Brothers supported Mumford & Sons on their tour in the fall of 2025.
