Met het nieuwe album Cosmic Gold voegt de band een nieuwe touch toe aan het repertoire: disco. Het is een album waarvan de band hoopt dat het mensen letterlijk en figuurlijk in beweging zal brengen. Verwacht een avond vol groove, disco en muzikale klasse.
Dit album is het resultaat van zes jaar jammen, schrijven, bouwen, live-spelen, uitproberen, weggooien en weer opbouwen. Een lang maar tof creatief proces. Wij zijn dan ook heel trots op het resultaat waarin enorm veel passie en liefde is gestoken en kunnen niet wachten om alle songs live te gaan spelen. – Sven Figee

In 2020 formeerde Sven Figee op verzoek van het tv-programma Matthijs Gaat Door een speciale bigband. De band werd vier seizoenen lang de succesvolle begeleidingsband van dit programma en hier ontstond de chemie tussen de muzikanten. In het twintig jarige bestaan van de band, heeft Sven Hammond honderden shows gespeeld in het binnen- en buitenland, waaronder op festivals als Noorderslag, North Sea Jazz en Tuckerville. Voor het nieuwe album hebben ze zich laten inspireren door bands als Earth, Wind & Fire en Parliament/Funkadelic. Om de eerste single It’s Alright te citeren: ‘Put on your dancing shoes!’.

Miss Meredith is het funky en spacey alter ego van toetsenist Chelsea Laverne. Gewapend met talkbox, loopstation en scheurende synths neemt ze het publiek mee op een buitenaardse reis vol groovy beats. Chelsea speelde eerder met artiesten als Stromae, Candy Dulfer en Sven Hammond, en is te zien in de Sven Hammond Bigband en het collectief Soundwise.

In 2020, at the request of Dutch TV show Matthijs Gaat Door, Sven Figee formed a special big band. Over four seasons, they became the show’s highly successful house band, forging a deep musical chemistry.
With a career spanning 20 years, Sven Hammond has played hundreds of shows across the Netherlands and beyond, gracing major festivals like Noorderslag, North Sea Jazz, and Tuckerville. Their latest album draws inspiration from legends like Earth, Wind & Fire and Parliament/Funkadelic.

Miss Meredith is the funky and spacey alter ego of keyboardist Chelsea Laverne. Armed with a talkbox, loop station, and roaring synths, she takes the audience on an intergalactic journey full of groovy beats. Chelsea has previously performed with artists like Stromae, Candy Dulfer, and Sven Hammond, and is part of the Sven Hammond Bigband and the Soundwise collective.
