De meest invloedrijke en vooruitstrevende alternatieve rockband uit de jaren 80 is terug met het nieuwe album Doggerel en daar hoort een uitgebreide tour bij die in maart De Oosterpoort in Groningen aan doet. Niet dat je alleen nieuw werk te horen zal krijgen, want de Pixies staan erom bekend dat ze live altijd gewoon spelen waar ze zin in hebben zonder voorbedachte setlist, waardoor geen enkele Pixies show ooit hetzelfde is. Ongetwijfeld komen dan ook klassiekers als Where’s My Mind en Heres Comes Your Man voorbij evenals vele andere nummers waaruit bands als Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, The Strokes, Weezer en vele anderen hun inspiratie haalden.
