Mozarts Così fan tutte
In 2013 bracht het Orkest van de Achttiende Eeuw voor het eerst de iconische Mozart-opera Così fan tutte. “Ronduit spectaculair”, schreef de Volkskrant destijds. Trouw gaf zelfs vijf sterren en roemde het “subliem spelende orkest”. Reden te meer dus om het werk dit seizoen opnieuw op te planken te brengen.
Mozarts hilarische relatiekomedie – vrij vertaald: zo zijn alle vrouwen – is na Le Nozze di Figaro en Don Giovanni de laatste van de drie grote Da Ponte-opera’s, genoemd naar librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte. Niet alleen waren ze vernieuwend, ze zijn nog steeds beklijvend door de meesterlijke muziek.
Deze nieuwe productie wordt uitgevoerd door een internationale sterrencast. Aanstormend talent Lisenka Heijboer Castañon zit in de regiestoel en werkt voor de derde keer samen met de jonge dirigent Manoj Kamps. Eerder maakte het duo het succesvolle Faust [Working Title] en het grensverleggende I Have Missed You Forever voor de Nationale Opera. Het Orkest van de Achttiende eeuw krijgt tijdens deze uitvoering vocale ondersteuning van topzangers als Claron McFadden en Henk Neven.

In 2013, the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century (Orkest van de Achttiende Eeuw) performed the iconic Mozart opera Così fan tutte for the first time. De Volkskrant deemed it ‘simply spectacular’. Trouw praised the ‘sublime’ orchestra and even awarded it five stars (of five). All the more reason to bring the work back on stage.
Mozart’s hilarious relationship comedy – loosely translated: Women are all the same – is, after Le Nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni, the last of the three great Da Ponte operas, named after librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte. Back then the operas were ahead of their time, and their masterful music still captivate now.
This new partially-staged production is performed by an international star cast. Up-and-coming talent Lisenka Heijboer Castañon is in the director’s chair and will be working for the third time with the young conductor Manoj Kamps, after the successful Faust [Working Title] and the groundbreaking I Have Missed You Forever for the Dutch National Opera. During this performance, the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century receives vocal support from top soloists such as Claron McFadden and Henk Neven.
