Na de theaterhit Nachtwacht brengen NITE en Club Guy & Roni, samen met het befaamde Thalia Theater Hamburg: HOPE. Een indringend verhaal over hoopvol blijven in tijden van wanhoop.
In HOPE raken een ensemble, een regisseur en het personeel van een bar verstrikt in machtspelletjes, verzet en paniek. Buiten zwelt de regen aan tot een vloed. Binnen deze microsamenleving stapelen de vragen zich op: Hebben we leiders nodig of elkaar? Wat is sterker: de belofte van orde of de kracht van verzet? Wat te doen nu het water ons aan de lippen staat.
HOPE is een voorstelling die je meeneemt in de spanningen tussen twijfel en overtuiging, repressie en verzet. Wat blijft er over wanneer systemen falen, wanneer verhalen en moraal wankelen, wanneer de ‘choreografie van consensus’ uiteenvalt.
Juist in die puinhoop schuilt hoop. Niet als zoetsappig idee, maar hoop als rebelse, fantasierijke kracht tegen wanhoop, chaos en conflict. Hoop als werkwoord. Hoop als daad van verzet. Hoop als moving word. Hoop als “het ding met veren’ (Emily Dickinson).

In HOPE, an ensemble, a director and the staff of a bar become entangled in games of power, resistance and rising panic. Outside, the rain swells into a flood. Inside this fragile micro-society, the questions mount: Do we need leaders, or do we need each other? What is stronger; the promise of order or the force of resistance? What can we do now that the flood is rising to silence us.
HOPE pulls you into the tensions between doubt and conviction, repression and rebellion. What remains when systems fail, when stories and morals collapse, when the “choreography of consensus” finally breaks apart?
