De verbindende factor van 2020 slaat weer toe: Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions die ons met hun Sunday Service-concertserie in Paradiso moreel op de been hielden tijdens de eerste lockdown, komen nu met een fonkelend kerstalbum.
It’s A Soulful Christmas – uit op 4 december – biedt behalve troost vooral veel gezelligheid voor de kerst. Dat gebeurt met soul, gospel en pop in diverse tinten.
Op het album wordt een brug geslagen tussen het christelijke kerstfeest met de geboorte van Jezus en de Amerikaanse interpretatie daarvan met de kerstman en pakjes onder de boom. Zangeres Michelle David heeft al gezegd dat ze hoopt dat het een toekomstige ‘Christmas classic’ gaat worden. Alles werkt mee aan een kerstbeleving voor de ware liefhebber die zich helemaal laat meeslepen door de sfeer. Of zoals Michelle het zegt: “Het is een plaat die met veel soul door de kersttijd en verder voert.”
During the first lock down Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions kept us going with their Sunday Service concert series in Paradiso Amsterdam. Now this connecting factor of 2020 strikes again with a sparkling Christmas album. It’s A Soulful Christmas – released 4th of December – offers comfort, but also and most of all lots of warm Christmas feelings. You will hear soul, gospel and pop in various tones. The album builds a bridge between the Chrisitan Christmas with the birth of Jezus and the American interpretation of this with father Christmas and presents beneath the Christmas tree. Singer Michelle David already said that she hopes it will become a future ‘Christmas Classic’. The album is a true Christmas experience for the enthusiastic Christmas fan that will be totally taken away. Or as we quote Michelle: “It is a record with loads of soul that will bring you along Christmas time and beyond”.
