Het wereldberoemde Harlem Gospel Choir is het meest gerenommeerde gospelkoor in Amerika en wereldwijd. De zangers reizen de hele wereld rond om de vreugde van hun geloof door hun muziek te delen en geld in te zamelen voor goede doelen voor kinderen. Het Harlem Gospel Choir stelt moderne gospelklassiekers voor zoals ze vandaag in de zwarte kerkgemeenschap van Harlem vertolkt worden. Naast de gospelklassiekers stelt Harlem Gospel Choir ieder jaar een artiest centraal die ze eren. Dit jaar is dat Aretha Franklin.
Het Harlem Gospel Choir mocht al het podium delen met supersterren als Bono, Diana Ross, The Gorillaz, Andre Rieu en onlangs nog Damon Albarn en Pharrell Williams. Ze hebben opgetreden voor drie presidenten (Obama, Carter en Nelson Mandela), twee pausen (Johannes Paulus II en Benedictus XVI) en hebben songs opgenomen met verschillende wereldsterren als bvb. Sir Keith Richards.
The world-famous Harlem Gospel Choir is the most renowned gospel choir in America and worldwide. The singers travel around the world to share the joy of their faith through their music and raise money for children’s charities. The Harlem Gospel Choir performs modern gospel classics as they are sung today in the black church community of Harlem. In addition to the gospel classics, the Harlem Gospel Choir honors a featured artist each year. This year, that artist is Aretha Franklin.
The Harlem Gospel Choir has already shared the stage with superstars such as Bono, Diana Ross, The Gorillaz, Andre Rieu, and more recently Damon Albarn and Pharrell Williams. They have performed for three presidents (Obama, Carter, and Nelson Mandela), two popes (John Paul II and Benedict XVI), and have recorded songs with various world stars such as Sir Keith Richards.
