Swedish folk, blues and soul with hypnotic grooves and fluttering jams
Daniel Norgren makes music that refuses to be rushed. The Swede from Borås recorded his album Wooh Dang in an old textile farmhouse deep in the woods, and you can hear it: folk, blues and soul with a warm, slightly crackling edge and a voice that sounds both fragile and lived-in.
If his name doesn’t ring a bell, his music might. Norgren’s songs make up almost the entire soundtrack of Le otto montagne (The Eight Mountains), the mountain drama that won the Jury Prize at Cannes in 2022. That is how songs such as As Long As We Last from the album Alabursy found a large new audience.
On stage, with his band, that understated sound grows into something big: hypnotic grooves, sprawling jams and moments when the whole room holds its breath. Following his recent single Leaves & Fine, Norgren returns to European stages in 2027.
