Cristina Branco is een van de belangrijkste Portugese artiesten van de afgelopen decennia, met in totaal 17 uitgebrachte albums en talloze concerten over de hele wereld. Haar meest recente album, Mae (2023), heeft zowel het publiek als de critici voor zich gewonnen en bevestigde dat Cristina een van de meest veelzijdige artiesten in de Portugese muziekscene is. Ze begon haar carrière in Nederland, met het album Cristina Branco in Holland (1997), dat een enorm succes werd. In de daaropvolgende jaren explodeerde Cristina’s naam in heel Europa, met uitverkochte data in talloze zalen en steden. Haar volgende werken, Murmúrios (1998) en Post-Scriptum (2000), versterkten het succes van haar eerste album en Cristina ontving twee Prix Choc, de prestigieuze prijzen die worden uitgereikt door het Franse tijdschrift Le Monde de La Musique. Ondanks haar prestaties in het buitenland, was het pas aan het begin van het millennium, met Corpo Iluminado (2001), O Descobridor (2002), een dubbel platina album, Sensus (2003) en Ulisses (2005), dat Cristina Branco eindelijk begon om ontdekt en geprezen te worden door het Portugese publiek en de pers.
Vergelijkingen met Amália Rodrigues blijken terugkerend en onvermijdelijk. Branco staat bekend om het naadloos koppelen van traditie met vernieuwing van het genre. Dit jaar duikt Cristina opnieuw de studio in om haar publiek met nieuwe muziek en een nieuwe show te verrassen en vermaken. Vanaf het voorjaar vertrekt Cristina weer op tournee door Nederland en zal ze ook in dit theater te zien zijn.

The performer has been a well-received personality on Dutch stages for years and has collaborated in the past with BLØF among others. This year, Cristina is once again heading into the studio to surprise and entertain her audience with new music and a new show. Starting from spring, Cristina will embark on a tour across the Netherlands and will also be seen in this theater.
