In april staat het Grand Theatre in het teken van dans en Club Guy & Roni trapt af met de vijfde editie van het Club Guy & Roni’s Weekend Break Festival. Bezoek vrijdag 31 maart of zaterdag 1 april een verrassend programma met moderne dans, theater, live muziek, multimedia en een afterparty.

* ‘Teddy’s last Ride’ van de Poetic Disasters Club >>> 20:00 – 20:45

‘Teddy’s last ride’ is de eerste voorstelling die Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic Disasters Club volledig zelf maakt én speelt. Ga met ze mee op hun reis door dertig minuten van obscene zelfverkenning, hartverscheurende verhalen, en grimmige ‘basement beats’, terwijl ze zich schuddend en dansend een weg banen door de adolescentie. Regisseur Tatiana Matveeva liet zich in het creatieve proces inspireren door ‘Haunted’ van de Amerikaanse schrijver Chuck Palahniuk. Met muziek gecomponeerd door Adriaan Bon en Andy Smart.

* ‘Terra Incognita’ van Dunja Jocic >>> 22:15 – 22:45

Dunja Jocic, als danseres al jarenlang een blikvanger bij Club Guy & Roni, verrast als choreografe met eigenzinnige dansprojecten en films. ‘Terra Incognita’ is een fysiek en interdisciplinair duet gebaseerd op het gelijknamige korte verhaal van Vladimir Nabokov. Hierin proberen ontsnapte vrienden in de tropische hel van Badonia het onbekende land Gurano Hills te bereiken.

Een groep jongeren van NNTWEE laat zich vrijwillig opsluiten in de studio van het Grand Theatre samen met theatermaker Sijas de Groot. 24 uren. Kijken wat er gebeurt… NNTWEE presenteert ook Toe Dan(s), een fijne theatrale inleiding op de spectaculaire coproductie Carrousel van het NNT, Club Guy & Roni en Asko|Schönbergs K[h]AOS die momenteel in de theaters staat… Er zijn installaties en objecten van scenograaf Caroline van de Meent en van lichtontwerper Satu Leskinen (een voorproefje op de nieuwe voorstelling Self-Accusation van de Poetic Disasters Club)… en DJ’s Angy Revengy en Neon Wasabi drrraaien …. en … ?

Our Grand Theatre dedicates the whole month of April to dance, and Club Guy & Roni will kick off with the fifth edition of Club Guy & Roni’s Weekend Break Festival. You can visit the festival on Friday March 31th or Saturday April 1st and check out an exciting program with contemporary dance, theatre, live music, multimedia and an afterparty.

‘Teddy’s last ride’ will be the first piece completely made and performed by Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic Disasters Club itself. Join them, on their trip through thirty minutes of raunchy exploration, gut-wrenching tales, and dirty basement beats, as they gyrate, shake, and dance their way through adolescence. Director Tatiana Matveeva derived inspiration from ‘Haunted’ by American writer Chuck Palahniuk. With music composed by Adriaan Bon and Andy Smart.

* ‘Terra Incognita’ by Dunja Jocic

Dunja Jocic, already for many years an outstanding dancer with Club Guy & Roni, surprises as a choreographer with personal dance projects and films. ‘Terra Incognita’ is a physical and interdisciplinary duet based on the short story by Vladimir Nabokov. Escaped friends try to reach the unknown land Gurano Hills in the tropical hell of Badonia.

Dansliefhebbers opgelet! In april presenteren wij namelijk Dance Partners in Crime, een clusterprogramma dat volledig in het teken staat van hedendaagse dans. Naast het Weekend Break Festival, zijn ook The Nonsense Society, Moving Futures en Accusations te zien.
