Het gezelschap uit Australië verkoopt op alle continenten uit met extreem krachtige en ontroerende optredens en blijft de grenzen van de kunstvorm verleggen.
De circusversie van een meesterwerk
Met Sacre laat het gezelschap opnieuw zien waar het voor staat: vernieuwing, fysieke poëzie en grensverleggende acrobatiek. Circa brengt Stravinsky’s beroemde Le Sacre du Printemps voor het eerst in een circusversie. Pulserend van spanning en doordrenkt met donkere humor, onderzoeken tien dansers in een explosie van fysieke kracht de onderlinge verbondenheid van de mens. De productie kent een geraffineerd lichtontwerp en Philippe Bachman componeerde opzwepende nieuwe muziek, die naast de oorspronkelijke klanken van Le Sacre zal klinken.
Le Sacre du Printemps
Le Sacre du Printemps van Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes ging in première in het Parijse Théátre des Champs-Elysées in 1913. De muziek van Stravinsky en de choreografie van Vaslav Nijinsky zorgden voor een grote revolutie in de dans- en muziekwereld.

In the first circus setting of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, critically acclaimed contemporary circus company Circa tightly weaves together powerful world-class acrobatics and dynamic encounters suffused with dark humour and rich tenderness.
Featuring new composition by Philippe Bachman alongside Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, the famous high C on the bassoon sounds and the stage explodes with bodies locked in a ritual unto death.
Under the direction of circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz the Circa ensemble puts bodies on the line for Sacre in electrifying explosions of physicality and power.
