Het Utrechtse bluegrasskwartet reist al sinds eind jaren tachtig de wereld over en in het najaar vieren ze hun jubileum in Groningen. Van de binnenstad van Utrecht tot podia in Nashville, Austin en New York: de Blue Grass Boogiemen laten al 35 jaar horen hoe Amerikaanse rootsmuziek ook uit Nederland kan komen. De band speelde op festivals als Lowlands, Into The Great Wide Open en North Sea Jazz en werkte samen met onder meer Tim Knol en Corb Lund. Hun optredens staan bekend om virtuoos spel, close harmony en een flinke dosis energie. Authentiek, maar altijd met een eigen draai.

The Utrecht-based bluegrass quartet has been touring the world since the late 1980s, and this autumn they will celebrate their anniversary in Groningen. From the streets of Utrecht to stages in Nashville, Austin, and New York, the Blue Grass Boogiemen have been showcasing for 35 years how American roots music can also come from the Netherlands. The band has performed at festivals such as Lowlands, Into The Great Wide Open, and North Sea Jazz, and collaborated with artists including Tim Knol and Corb Lund. Their shows are known for virtuosic playing, close harmony, and a hefty dose of energy. Authentic, yet always with their own unique twist.
