De uit New York afkomstige Zephaniah OHora neemt je helemaal mee terug naar die klassieke countrysound van de tweede helft van de zestiger jaren. De tijd dat de Bakersfield sound en de Britse popinvasie hun weerklank in de countrymuziek begonnen te vinden. Een stem waarmee je al veertig jaar goede sier kunt maken in de countrywereld? Check. Liedjes met goede countrytitels als He Can Have Tomorrow (I’ll Take Yesterday)? Check. Jankende gitaren en honky-tonk piano? Check. Brooklyn, New York, is niet per se een plek die bekend staat om het voortbrengen van geweldige country artiesten. Toch kunnen alle juiste vinkjes worden gezet bij de muziek van Zephaniah OHora. In juni 2017 bracht hij het debuutalbum This Highway uit, in samenwerking met The 18 Wheelers. A voice that reminds of Bruce Springsteen somewhat. With such a quality it is not very difficult to tower above the currently overwhelming supply of Americana and roots. Elijah Ocean creates good old-fashioned country rock and this makes him the perfect support act for Zephaniah OHora.
