Western AF, een Amerikaans YouTube kanaal die de focus legt op aanstormend talent in het americana-genre, komt met een tour naar Groningen. Western AF European Tour neemt drie songwriters uit Nashville, Kristina Murray, Pat Reedy en Todd Day Wait, mee op tournee door de EU om het woord over goede countrymuziek te verspreiden. Een live show met een aantal van Amerika’s best bewaarde geheimen in de countrymuziek. Op donderdag 6 juni staan ze in de Binnenzaal van De Oosterpoort.
Kristina Murray is een countrymuzikante die in Nashville, Tennessee woont. Kristina’s muziek is een eerbetoon aan het gerinkel van een akoestische gitaar, de steek van een Telecaster, het gejank van een pedal steel en een wandelende baslijn – het zweet en vuil en hartzeer van countrylegendes – in plaats van de hair-metal gitaar en drummachine van de hedendaagse commerciële country. Eén keer luisteren en je gelooft elk woord dat uit haar honky-tonk uitgehouwen, honingzoete zangstijl druipt. Kristina werkt momenteel aan haar derde LP, die ergens dit jaar wordt uitgebracht.

Todd Day Wait is afkomstig uit Missouri en heeft een makkelijk in de omgang, goed gehumeurd karakter waardoor je sneller meezingt dan dat je de woorden kent. Na jaren reizen vestigde hij zich bijna tien jaar in New Orleans en verhuisde in 2019 naar Nashville. Je kunt hem met zijn band vinden om de late night Honkytonks levend te houden met twee steppen in Nashville, overal in de V.S. en door heel Europa.

Kristina Murray is a country musician living in Nashville, Tennessee. Kristina’s music pays homage to the jangle of an acoustic guitar, the sting of a Telecaster, the whine of a pedal steel and a walking bassline—the sweat and grime and heartache of country legends—rather than the hair-metal guitar and drum machine of contemporary commercial country. One listen and you’ll believe every word that drips from her honky-tonk hewn, honeyed vocal style. Kristina is currently working on her third LP, to be released sometime this year.
Pat Reedy

Todd Day Wait
Todd is a Missouri native with an easy-going, good humored nature that will have you singing along faster than you know the words. After years traveling he settled in New Orleans for almost a decade and then moved up to Nashville in 2019. You can find him with his band keeping the late night Honkytonks alive with two stepping in Nashville, all over the U.S. and throughout Europe.
