Ordinary Elephant schrijft pakkende liedjes op het snijpunt van country, bluegrass en folk. Het duo bestaande uit echtpaar Peter & Crystal Damore laat zich inspireren door artiesten als Gillian Welch, Guy Clark en David Rawlings. Hun prachtige samenzang in combinatie met rustige instrumentatie van voornamelijk banjo, mandoline en gitaar geeft een harmonische en verrassende uitkomst: intense en gelaagde nummers die toch makkelijk luisteren. Niet voor niks werd het duo ‘Artist Of The Year’ op de International Folk Music Awards en mogen ze Mary Gauthier tot hun grootste fan rekenen. Met hun voorlaatste album Honest (2019), dat internationaal gezien werd als een van de beste americana albums van het jaar, vestigde het duo zich definitief in de internationale americana wereld.

The duo, a married couple Peter & Crystal Damore, draws inspiration from artists like Gillian Welch, Guy Clark, and David Rawlings. Their beautiful harmonies combined with subtle instrumentation—mainly banjo, mandolin, and guitar—create a harmonious and surprising result: intense and layered songs that are still easy to listen to. It’s no surprise the duo was named ‘Artist of the Year’ at the International Folk Music Awards and counts Mary Gauthier among their biggest fans. With their penultimate album Honest (2019), widely regarded internationally as one of the best Americana albums of the year, they firmly established themselves in the international Americana scene.
