Napolitana
Napels, havenstad van een overweldigende schoonheid aan de Middellandse Zee. Daar, aan de voet van de Vesuvius, bruist het al eeuwenlang van emotie en draait het leven om vis, familie, Gomorra en vooral muziek!
Tijdens dit concert speelt het Nederlands Blazers Ensemble werk van twee grote maestro’s die Napels heeft voortgebracht: Domenico Scarlatti en Giovanni Pergolesi. Daarnaast dompelen ze je samen met special guest en levende legende Peppe Barra onder in muziek van de straat en de kroeg. Dit is Napolitaanse volksmuziek zoals dat hoort: boordevol drama, passie en humor. Gitarist Paolo del Vecchio en Simone Bottasso op zijn Italiaanse organetto stoken het vuurtje nog wat verder op. Samen met de blazers vieren ze de stad met een levende ziel: Napolitana!

Once you’ve seen Naples, there is no need to go anywhere else. Unless it is to this concert by the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, which puts the Italian city in the spotlight.
You will hear the refined baroque music of Domenico Scarlatti – one of Naples’ most famous musical offspring. Together with a number of special guests from contemporary Naples, the wind players will treat you to adaptations of traditional Neapolitan songs. Music found in pubs and churches, both delicate and emotionally charged.
