Iris Hond heeft zich door de jaren heen bewezen als artieste van wereldniveau. Ze is niet alleen bekend door haar geweldige pianospel, maar ook door de manier waarop ze het publiek weet mee te nemen in haar persoonlijke shows. Tijdens dit theaterconcert speelt ze werk van de razend populaire pianist en componist Ludovico Einaudi.
Einaudi is een fenomeen: zijn minimalistisch aandoende composities zijn nauw verwant aan popmuziek en daarmee begeeft hij zich op een bijzonder gebied. Met de soundtrack van de filmhit Intouchables brak de Italiaan door bij het grote publiek. Albums als Divenire, Nightbook en In A Timelapse gingen wereldwijd met miljoenen over de toonbank en ook zijn concerten zijn maanden van tevoren uitverkocht.
Het is muziek die ook Iris Hond diep raakt. Einaudi laat zich op zijn beurt zeer lovend uit over de wijze waarop Iris zijn werk uitvoert: “One of the most beautiful performances of my music.” Tijdens dit concert bundelt zij haar krachten met het twintigkoppige Strijkorkest Kamerata Zuid om de muziek van Einaudi groots op de planken te zetten.

The phenomenal Italian composer rose to international fame with his compositions for the soundtrack of Intouchables. His solo albums sell like hotcakes and his concerts are sold-out months in advance.
After her own sold-out solo tour Iris Hond Plays Einaudi, Hond now returns to the sober yet soulful music of Einaudi, this time accompanied by the Kamerata Zuid Chamber Orchestra.
