Ian Paice is de legendarische drummer en medeoprichter van Deep Purple en nog steeds actief met deze baanbrekende band. Al sinds de jaren zeventig geldt DP als één van de meest innovatieve en succesvolle rockbands ter wereld, waarbij het drumwerk van Paice een belangrijke rol speelt. Daarnaast heeft het rock-icoon ook opgetreden met Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Paul McCartney, The Spencer Davis Group, Velvet Underground en The Maze, om er maar een paar te noemen.
Nu gaat hij op tour met de band Purpendicular en zijn Best-Of-Classic-Deep-Purple-Show! De band Purpendicular wordt o.a. door Paice zelf en Joe Lynn Turner (voormalig Deep Purple zanger) gezien als ’s werelds beste tributeband en heeft het vermogen om de unieke sound van Deep Purple te vieren en over te brengen. Tijdens deze tour presenteert de band ook nummers van het gloednieuwe album The Human Mechanic, opnieuw met de meester zelf op drums.
