Fabrizio Paterlini
Fabrizio Paterlini is een Italiaanse pianist en componist uit Mantua, een pittoresk stadje in Italië waar hij nog steeds woont. Sinds zijn debuutalbum Viaggi in Aeromobile (2007) is Paterlini uitgegroeid tot een internationaal erkend minimal music-artiest. Zijn pianomuziek zweeft tussen het dramatische en sobere en hij weet mensen diep te raken. “Treurige muziek schrijven maakt me gelukkiger”, aldus de Italiaan.
Na dit eerste album dook Paterlini nog dieper in de solo pianocomposities, met meerdere albums als resultaat: Viandanze (2008), Fragments Found (2010), Autumn Stories (2012) en The Art of the Piano (2014). Daarna verlegde hij zijn interesse naar andere muziekstijlen. In 2013 bracht hij de plaat Now uit, waarop hij voor het eerst pianomuziek met elektronica vermengt. Dit album werd in 2017 opgevolgd door Secret Book, zijn meest complete werk tot dan toe. De combinatie van piano, strijkers en elektronische klanken brengt zijn muziek naar nieuwe hoogtes.
Fabrizio Paterlini (born in 1973) is an Italian pianist and composer from Mantua, a small and nice town in Italy, where he currently lives with his family. He released his first album for piano solo, Viaggi in Aeromobile in 2007 and since then, his music started to travel around the globe.
After exploring the piano solo compositions with several works (Viandanze in 2008, Fragments Found in 2010, Autumn Stories in 2012 and The Art of the Piano in 2014), he then started exploring different setup. In 2013 he released “Now”, his first attempt to conjugate piano with electronics and in 2017 he published his latest Secret Book, his most composite album so far. Piano, strings and electronics blend together in a new and interesting formula that brings Fabrizio’s music to new unexplored paths.
