Up-and-coming piano talent plays works by Franz Liszt
Pianist Alexandra Kaptein schetst een verhaal over liefde, hoop en berusting aan de hand van werken van Franz Liszt – haar grote inspiratiebron. “Na pijn en verdriet overwint bij Liszt altijd het geloof”, aldus Kaptein, een van de vier finalisten van Dutch Classical Talent. Zijn muziek voert je van donker naar licht, van verdriet naar verheffing.
In het programma Franz Liszt: harmonie van het licht laat Alexandra je daar prachtige voorbeelden van horen. Vorig jaar verscheen haar debuut-cd Lebenswanderung met transcripties van Liszt. “Haar techniek is feilloos, haar vertolkingskunst getuigt van groot inlevingsvermogen,’ aldus Opus Klassiek.

Dutch Classical Talent
Dutch Classical Talent is een ontwikkelingstraject voor jonge Nederlandse topmusici. Laureaten zijn bijvoorbeeld Tania Kross, Lavinia Meijer, Nora Fischer, het Van Baerle Trio en het Berlage Saxophone Quartet, om maar wat klinkende namen te noemen. Talent alleen is niet genoeg om de finale te bereiken; deelnemers moeten onderscheidende en prikkelende programma’s meenemen, visie en een beetje lef. De finale vindt plaats op zondag 31 mei in TivoliVredenburg (Utrecht).
Pianist Alexandra Kaptein sketches a story of love, hope and resignation using works by Franz Liszt – her great inspiration. “After pain and sorrow, faith always triumphs with Liszt,” says Kaptein, one of the four finalists of Dutch Classical Talent. His music takes you from darkness to light, from sorrow to exaltation.
In the program Franz Liszt: Harmony of Light, Alexandra lets you hear beautiful examples of this. Last year she released her debut CD Lebenswanderung with transcriptions of Liszt. “Her technique is flawless, her art of interpretation shows great empathy,” according to Opus Klassiek.

Dutch Classical Talent is a development program for young Dutch top musicians. Laureates include Tania Kross, Lavinia Meijer, Nora Fischer, the Van Baerle Trio and the Berlage Saxophone Quartet, just to name a few resounding names. Talent alone is not enough to reach the finals; contestants must bring distinctive and thought-provoking programs, vision and a bit of guts. The finals will take place on Sunday, May 31 in TivoliVredenburg (Utrecht).
