Het uit Nashville afkomstige Della Mae wordt door de kenners gezien als een van de beste bluegrassbands van dit moment. Sinds hun ontstaan in 2009 staat de all-female groep bekend om haar ijzersterke liveoptredens.
Elk lid van Della Mae brengt de uitgesproken stijlen van hun verschillende muzikale achtergronden, resulterend in de unieke stijl die Della Mae zo geliefd maakt. Samen hebben ze een originele sound: gevoelig maar assertief, intens maar speels, gebaseerd op traditie maar recent. De veelzijdige instrumentalisten en vocalisten maken, puttend uit hun roots-invloeden, opzwepende originele muziek die een uitgebreide muzikale visie overbrengt. Met hun tijdloze lyrics en een onmiskenbare hedendaagse sensibiliteit, meten ze zich met andere roots-bewuste acts. Behalve aandacht voor hun geweldige muziek is het ook hun missie om de wereld en de mogelijkheden voor meisjes en vrouwen in de wereld beter te maken. Op 6 mei staat de band bij ons in de Binnenzaal!

Laura Cortese is de supportact van Della Mae op vrijdag 6 mei in De Oosterpoort. Laura is een Indie-folks zangeres en maakt samen met haar band ‘The Dance Carts’ een combinatie van snaarmuziek, pop en rootsmuziek Nu speelt ze in het voorprogramma met hun nieuwste album ‘BITTER BETTER’ .
