Daryll-Ann is een Nederlandse alternatieve rockband. De band brak halverwege de jaren 90 door en kende successen in binnen- en buitenland. Een van hun bekendste albums, Daryll-Ann Weeps, bestaat inmiddels 30 jaar en dat moet gevierd worden.
Het album is opgenomen in 1996 in Weesp, en is er zo eentje waarvoor de status ‘cult-classic’ is uitgevonden. Een album waar alles in zit: woede, verdriet, schoonheid, troost… de klassieke elementen van de ware kunst, gestileerd in zestien songs. Alle reden om het meesterwerk dertig jaar na de conceptie voor het eerst in z’n geheel uit te voeren; in de originele bezetting onder de best denkbare omstandigheden…
Daryll-Ann is a Dutch alternative rock band. The band broke through in the mid-1990s and achieved success both at home and abroad. One of their best-known albums, Daryll-Ann Weeps, has now turned 30 years old—and that calls for a celebration.
The album was recorded in 1996 in Weesp and is one of those records for which the term “cult classic” was invented. It’s an album that contains everything: anger, sorrow, beauty, comfort… the classic elements of true art, distilled into sixteen songs.
