Cerys Hafana
Cerys Hafana is een componiste en multi-instrumentaliste uit Wales. Ze transformeert traditionele muziek en combineert dit met de unieke eigenschappen van de Welsh triple harp. Haar tweede album Edyf werd geselecteerd als een van de top 10 folkalbums van 2022 door The Guardian. Dit album is grotendeels gebaseerd op materiaal dat gevonden is in het online archief van de Welsh National Library waaronder oude psalmmelodieën, hymnen en filosofische bevindingen over tijd en eeuwigheid. Met haar muzikale kunnen en artistieke visie brengt Cerys deze eeuwenoude klanken tot leven op een eigentijdse en betoverende manier.
Dit optreden wordt georganiseerd in samenwerking met Stichting Folk Groningen.

Cerys Hafana is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Wales. She transforms traditional music and combines it with the unique characteristics of the Welsh triple harp. Her second album Edyf was selected as one of the top 10 folk albums of 2022 by The Guardian. This album is based largely on material found in the Welsh National Library’s online archive including ancient psalm melodies, hymns and philosophical findings about time and eternity. With her musical ability and artistic vision, Cerys brings these ancient sounds to life in a contemporary and enchanting way.
This performance is organized in collaboration with Stichting Folk Groningen.
